ZHAI YI

ZHAI YI
Born in 1990, Zhai Yi graduated from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese painting. In 2018, I graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts in the direction of meticulous painting characters.
Zhai Yi built her “space” in her own works, filled the graffiti fragments on the walls of the “space” to be expressed by the artist, and then connected the fragments by the three-dimensional image of the box to unify them into a new whole. Zhai Yi processed the box into a “paper” texture, hoping that its shape could give people a better feeling of disassembling, kneading, folding and destroying. It was not permanent or immutable, but temporary, fragile and moldable. Viewers observe the whole “space” from a distant perspective of God, and no longer focus their attention on just one image, so that the behavior of “seeing” goes to another level. As the main organ of “seeing”, the eye is in an obvious position in many pictures. The eye is the window to know everything, and if you can’t see it, you are ignorant.
